2nd May 2018
Christchurch has certainly become my second home in New Zealand after Wainui Beach; the last visit saw six great days fabrication at McGregor Motorsport. Scott and Delwyn have moved into a factory minutes from their home and now the steady stream of visitors, new builds, modifications to existing cars has a real buzz of energy. For me, it was seeing several milestones completed on my car and working alongside Scott and Mark was as always very positive indeed. This video edit is an overview of the progress, I head back to Christchurch next month and I am sure that we will be starting the motor for the first time…a sake moment

Life Changes
1st April, 2017
This is not really about changes to the build but to my life. I recently turned 65 years old and this is the mandatory age of retirement for professors in Japanese National Universities. So, duly or dutifully I went to my retirement ceremony and then left my keys and walked out of 12 years of being employed at a National Japanese University. Were there moments of concern on my drive home, not one that would detract from the next chapter in my life? However, this may well have been influenced that I was driving my 1986 Porsche Wide Body RUF Non-Turbo home. So cars once again, will gain for more attention as I allow the month of April to settle into this new chapter.

IS YOUR CAR STILL FOR SALE?
So much can happen from one email…the sequence tells the story.
Hi Bruce
A couple months I saw it on trademe, it’s still for sale?
Regards
Stefan
Stefan
It’s still for sale, as I’m home in Japan now! What do you need to know, the car is garaged in Auckland all wrapped, serviced and ready for a new owner?
Cheers
Bruce
Hi Bruce
I had a read through your blog in the past so I have most of the details. I mentioned I’m in Auckland on the 25th June 2nd July and 17th -22nd July. So for now if I could have a look would be great. And when you back in NZ we can meet for more details. Quick details to my person I’m originally from Switzerland I traveled lots in my youth and then I got stuck in NZ where it is a great place to bring up kids.
Kind Regards
Stefan
Hi Bruce
How are you? I met your brother Grant yesterday he showed me your 7 and we had a good chat. I’m very impressed your perfection and how details are designed even small ones. We didn’t go for a drive it was too wet I’m back in Auckland on the 9th of July and hopefully it’s not raining then so we can go for a drive. I ask you, what your expectations are when it comes to the money.
Kind Regards
Stefan
Stefan
I’m glad you got to see my car; it’s had a great deal of thought put into making it a very special 7! I really enjoy the details – they simply make the difference from so many other 7s, driving is your next step and that’s what really puts a smile on your face!
Price, well it’s very fairly priced at 37.5k but I’m open to sensible offers…you’ve seen the price of the build and you’re very aware of other 7s on the market! Drive and then we can certainly meet with a figure that keeps us both happy! I’m really pleased as my brother assured me your genuine interest and concern with being a 7 owner! Keep in touch
Cheers
Bruce
Then, after the test drive prices were discussed and a sale was agreed upon. I must admit it was so strange to actually selling my car that had been such a part of my life and enjoyed by many others. I am equally happy with the new owner; Stefan will certainly look after and add his part to this cars history.
The empty space in the garage is a concern!

NEW BRAKES – EBC GREENS
My MACHsr7 needed some new front disk pads, so off to Auckland Brake & Clutch Services. The owner Lyall Zohs was extremely helpful and I soon walked out with some EBC GREENSTUFF Pads….now for some afternoon fun in the garage….another CONTOUR ROAM3 self-camera operated production.

MACHsr7 meets THE COROMANDEL PENINSULA
The intention that Taz and I would drive to Wainui Beach, Gisborne. But, appalling weather approaching we took the opportunity to drive around the Coromandel Peninsula. A simply Stunning Drive in any car but extraordinarily stunning in an open car….the MACHsr7 loved it.
The Coromandel Peninsula on the North Island of New Zealand extends 85 kilometers north from the western end of the Bay of Plenty, forming a natural barrier to protect the Hauraki Gulf and the Firth of Thames in the west from the Pacific Ocean to the east. At its broadest point, it is 40 kilometers wide. Almost the entire population lies on the narrow strips along the Hauraki Gulf and Bay of Plenty coasts. In fine weather the peninsula is clearly visible from Auckland, the country’s biggest city, which lies on the far shore of the Hauraki Gulf, 55 kilometers to the west. The peninsula is part of the local government areas of Thames-Coromandel District and the Waikato Region.

MUFFLER
Not being one to leave the car in the garage, it gets daily driving when I am over from Japan on holiday. The muffler tends to take a battering from roads and the simply solution is to take it off and paint it…..that’s of course over a few cold beers.

MATE DRIVES MACHsr7
My great friend Tom from Japan was just delighted to drive “Orange” – nothing like a MACHsr7 drive, have one cold beer and record it on faithful CONTOUR ROAM3
